Tomorrow Night Will Be More Of The Same

Tomorrow Night Will Be More Of The Same

Also known as,  Say… That You’ll Stay.

Back in college, I made a realization.  [ I know?! College right? ] A bunch of us guys where in a girl’s dorm.  And we were hanging out in one of the rooms and slowly by slowly most people left.  Finally in the end, it was me and one other girl.  We were friendly but we didn’t really know each other.  She looked really tired, and she was complaining that she had a long day at work.  So instinctively I looked at her and I said, how about if I give you a back rub?  She accepted and so she sat in-between my legs and I began to apply a gentle massage to her neck, shoulders and upper back.

At one moment, she leans forward and places her head in her arms on the coffee table.

I continue to rub, and talk to her, and I can her breathing slow down, and she begins to talk less and less.  Pretty soon…

[ She fell asleep. ]

I continued to massage a little more and then I stopped as it very quickly began to feel awkward.   The moment I stopped, she awoke.  I told her that I needed to get going but that I hoped the massage helped.

I started walking to the door and turned around, and then she kissed me.

It was light, gentle and actually made me step back.  Me in my dorkiness asked, what was that for?  And she said, “Nobody has ever done that for me before.”

And a light-bulb started to turn on.  I started to realize that the way to a woman’s heart is through service, to lift her feet up and rub them.  To rub her back after a long day of work.  To make that one week, that much more bearable by giving tummy rubs.

I’ve learned, to have a women not just fall in love you by being cute, adorable, funny, handsome, etc… but to have them be so deeply in love with you, because you did one thing.

You loved her. You loved her by showing love.  By caring for her needs.  By making her day that less of a struggle. To take a moment, and have her rest her head in your lap, while you ran your fingers across her face releasing the pressure underneath eyes. Releasing the pressure in the neck, and running your hands through her hair.

Making it so for that brief moment, all the cares in the world disappeared.

That is true love.
